A villager lodged a formal complaint with the Chief Minister's helpline after receiving only one ladoo (an Indian sweet) during an Independence Day event, in an unusual incident in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
According to Indian media reports, the incident occurred at a celebration in the Gram Panchayat Bhavan (village council hall) as part of the Independence Day festivities. Sweets were being distributed among the attendees when Kamlesh Kushwaha, a local resident, was given only one ladoo. He immediately protested, claiming that another attendee seated next to him had received two.
Upon being denied a second sweet, Kushwaha reportedly became upset and, without delay, called the Chief Minister’s helpline from outside the Panchayat premises to file a grievance.
In his written complaint, Kushwaha alleged that sweets had not been distributed fairly on the occasion of Independence Day and requested that action be taken regarding the matter.
Confirming the incident, Panchayat Secretary Ravindra Srivastava stated that the individual was standing outside the hall when he was handed one ladoo. When he demanded a second and was refused, he proceeded to register a complaint.
Following the filing of the complaint, the Panchayat took an extraordinary step to resolve the issue. It was decided that one kilogram of sweets would be purchased from the market and presented to the complainant as an apology.
