A British thrill-seeker has set a new world record after riding 55 roller coasters across the United Kingdom and Ireland in just seven days.
Dean Stokes, a roller coaster enthusiast, had originally planned to ride every roller coaster in all theme parks across the UK and Ireland. However, during the course of his journey, he decided to attempt a Guinness World Record.
Despite facing unpredictable weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong winds, Stokes continued his journey and completed the record-breaking challenge within a week.
He said his passion for theme parks and adventure rides began in childhood. The greatest obstacle during the attempt was the severe weather, particularly during Storm Flossie, which led to the closure of several parks for days. As a result, he was unable to ride more than 60 coasters, as originally intended. Travelling long distances between cities and editing daily videos also proved demanding.
Upon receiving his Guinness World Record certificate, Stokes described the experience as "unbelievable". He explained that the journey had started purely for enjoyment, not with the aim of setting a record. He added that he would be pleased if other enthusiasts took on the challenge and managed to surpass his achievement.
