The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved Rs5.8 billion for the flood-stricken people.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired the ECC meeting. On this occasion, the ECC has directed to immediately issue Rs4billion to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The Finance Ministry said that objective of aid is to reduce the difficulties faced by the rain-hit people.
The ECC has given approval to implement the uniform fuel charges adjustment. Meanwhile, a grant of Rs2billion for Prime Minister Fan's Replacement Programme was also approved. The meeting has decided to roll out the Prime Minister Fan's Replacement Programme soon.
During the meeting, the approval of term sheet agreement between the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), NEECA and commercial banks was given.
According to the communique, a grant of Rs250million was approved for the National Security Divison. The fund would be spent on the Strategic Policy Planning Cell.
A grant of Rs3.5bn approved for the payments based on RAAST QR code. The decision has been made to issue this subsidy scheme for the next three years. The ECC has directed the SBP to immediately issue the notification in connection with the scheme.
The ECC has directed to take initiative for ensuring the uplift of the digital economy in the country.
