National History Museum in Lahore offers visitors a multimedia journey through the struggle for Pakistan’s independence, featuring historic audio and video records of the freedom movement, the sacrifices of Muslims, and the creation of a new Muslim state.
From the announcement of independence that inspired millions to rare digital displays of Quaid-e-Azam and Gandhi’s meetings, Allama Iqbal’s poetry, and migration stories, the museum captures the defining moments of history. Visitors can also explore the “1947 Riots” section, which vividly depicts the hardships faced by Muslims during migration, and experience virtual reality recreations of the events.
The museum also showcases a replica of Lahore Railway Station with migrants’ belongings, as well as memories from Walton’s first refugee camp. Visitors can even take souvenir photographs alongside digital recreations of freedom movement leaders.
