A surge in terrorist activity has gripped Balochistan during the first half of 2025, with a string of deadly attacks leaving over 60 people martyred and hundreds injured, according to a security report.
The report, compiled from official and intelligence sources, paints a grim picture of the deteriorating law and order situation in the province, as terror groups — referred to by security officials as "Fitna-ul-Hindustan" — intensify their operations.
In one of the deadliest attacks this year, a powerful bomb struck a vehicle carrying workers in the Harnai district on February 14, killing 11 people on the spot.

Less than a month later, on March 11, Indian-backed proxies reportedly targeted the Jafar Express, resulting in the deaths of 31 passengers.
Another tragic incident occurred on May 21, when a suicide attacker targeted a school bus in Khuzdar, killing 10 individuals — including eight schoolchildren.
Just days later, on May 27, a polio vaccination team came under attack in Nushki, leading to the death of a police constable assigned to protect the health workers.
Violence continued into July. On the 1st of the month, militants launched a coordinated attack on a police station and a local bank in Mastung, killing one civilian and injuring nine others, including several children.
Most recently, two days ago, a passenger bus was intercepted in Loralai.
According to officials, militants forced passengers off the vehicle and executed nine individuals at point-blank range.
So far this year, at least 23 terrorists belonging to the so-called Fitna-ul-Hindustan network have been killed during clashes with law enforcement agencies, the report adds.
