A bear got trapped inside a parked car in Colorado and completely destroyed the vehicle’s interior before being freed by a sheriff’s deputy.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office released body camera footage from the deputy who was called to the foothills area.
“Oh, there’s a bear in there,” the deputy said after looking through the car window.
The deputy used a rope to safely open the car door from a distance and released the bear.
The animal caused extensive damage to the car’s interior before making its exit.
“Caution: Local bears may redecorate your ride,” the department warned in a Facebook post.
“Bears are good at breaking into vehicles, but not so good at getting out. This is a good reminder to always keep your car locked, even at home. Also, bears can smell any snacks left inside, so avoid tempting them — unless you want your car turned into a bear buffet!”
