The government has declared public holidays on 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram, corresponding to 5th and 6th July (Saturday and Sunday), in observance of Ashura.
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the decision to declare holidays was approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The public holidays will apply nationwide and will be observed in all government offices operating on both five-day and six-day workweeks.
