Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended on Tuesday the delegation led by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for effectively highlighting Indian aggression before the international community.
The prime minister extended his congratulations to the delegation for representing Pakistan's stance at the global level with dedication and clarity. “I congratulate you all on the excellent representation of Pakistan’s position internationally,” he said.
The remarks came during a meeting between PM Shehbaz and Bhutto-Zardari, during which the latter briefed the premier on recent diplomatic engagements in the United States and Europe.
PM Shehbaz paid tribute to the entire delegation, including Bhutto-Zardari, for successfully countering recent Indian propaganda and for conducting productive diplomatic visits to the US, UK and Europe. He hosted a dinner in honour of the diplomatic team.
“You have presented Pakistan’s case with national spirit and have returned successfully,” the premier said.
The delegation, led by Bhutto-Zardari, included Sherry Rehman, Dr Musadik Malik, Hina Rabbani Khar, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, Senator Faisal Sabzwari, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Jalil Abbas Jilani and Tehmina Janjua.
"They represented Pakistan’s position abroad with a strong national spirit—an effort that has been recognised not only in Pakistan but across the world," he said.
“Bilawal Bhutto had articulated Pakistan’s stance in an excellent manner,” PM Shehbaz stated.
He said, "The delegation presented events ranging from the situation in Pahalgam to the Indus Waters Treaty in a clear and accurate context, showcasing Pakistan’s viewpoint effectively on the international stage."
He added, “By the grace of Allah Almighty, the prayers of the nation and the military expertise of our brave armed forces, India has had to pay a heavy price for its unjust war hysteria.”
On economic matters, the premier said that efforts have been made in the 2025–26 budget to provide relief to all segments of society, including salaried classes.
He expressed gratitude to all coalition parties, including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), for their cooperation during the budget-making process.
“I am hopeful that with your leadership, cooperation, and valuable suggestions, we will overcome our internal and external challenges, InshaAllah,” the prime minister said.
