Weeks after reports of a quiet breakup between singer Asim Azhar and actress-model Merub Ali surfaced, the latter has shared a cryptic message on social media that many are interpreting as her first reaction to the end of their relationship.
Merub, who had maintained silence over the separation, posted a story on Instagram quoting a verse from the page ‘PoetStribe’, which read: “Someone asked me, ‘Will you not tell me your side’s story?’ I replied, ‘God knows, that is enough.’”
While Merub did not mention Asim by name, the timing and content of the post have led fans and entertainment observers to believe it is a subtle reference to her engagement with the singer, which reportedly ended in recent months.
Asim Azhar, who had earlier been linked with actress Hania Aamir before announcing his engagement with Merub in March 2022, also avoided commenting publicly on the breakup. However, the singer recently released a new track which he said was written after a difficult phase, further fueling speculation that it was inspired by the end of his relationship.

While neither side has offered a detailed explanation, Merub’s latest post suggests that she has chosen a path of quiet reflection rather than engaging in public discourse over the matter.
