Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah expressed serious concerns over the possibility of an imminent attack on Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Rana Sanaullah stated, “It seems a strike on Iran’s nuclear program is likely. The United States does not want Iran to achieve nuclear capability and is determined to prevent it at any cost.”
He was talking exclusively at SAMAA TV’s program Nadeem Malik Live.
Rana Sanaullah highlighted Pakistan’s fortunate position as a nuclear power, recalling the country’s nuclear tests 27 years ago. “Allah granted us success in the battle for truth. In that war, Israel was aligned with India,” he claimed.
The advisor emphasized that Pakistan should make efforts to prevent any attack on Iran. “If Iran is attacked, there will definitely be a reaction. Efforts must be underway to avoid such a conflict. Pakistan should engage Iranian leadership and help de-escalate the situation,” he said, adding that Pakistan has limited choices in this scenario and doesn’t foresee any favorable outcomes.
Commenting further, he mentioned that senior U.S. officials, referred to as "field marshals," are headed to Washington. “If China wishes, it could stop the attack. Pakistan, however, is not in a position to prevent it. The potential aggressor is not Israel but the United States,” he clarified.
He raised concerns about whether the U.S. would take Pakistan or other regional players into confidence. “Pakistan cannot become part of any military action against Iran. If such an attack happens, it would create a difficult situation for Pakistan as well,” he concluded.
