Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said the US–Iran memorandum of understanding is fully in Iran’s interest.
The statement comes as technical-level talks involving both sides are scheduled in Switzerland with mediation support from Pakistan and Qatar.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that all clauses of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States are aligned with Iran’s interests.
He expressed hope that the results of the ongoing diplomatic process will soon become clear as implementation discussions continue between the two sides.
Pezeshkian said the main condition set by the United States is that Iran should not develop a nuclear weapon.
He added that Iran’s Supreme Leader has repeatedly clarified that the country does not seek to build an atomic bomb.
The president further noted that Iran agreed to the nuclear understanding after Washington called for an agreement.
Progress through continued diplomacy
According to Pezeshkian, both Iran and the United States are now engaged in the implementation phase of the agreement through continued diplomatic engagement.
He said the process reflects ongoing efforts to manage differences and move forward under the existing understanding.
Representatives from Qatar and Pakistan will participate as mediators in the discussions.
Separate meetings are also expected with the Pakistani and Qatari delegations to support the mediation process.
