Humanoid robots are increasingly in the limelight in China, where preparations for the upcoming World Robot Games are in full swing. These games are set to begin in Beijing on 15th August.
According to details, in a remarkable move, the city of Hangzhou, in eastern China, hosted the world’s first boxing competition exclusively for humanoid robots.
The event was organised under the title "China Media Group World Robot Competition – Meta Fighting Series."
This was another step towards the future, not only marking a historic milestone in the world of technology but also paving new avenues for the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in the realm of sports.
The unique, live-streamed event featured several humanoid robot models, all designed and developed by Unitree Robotics, a Chinese robotics firm.
From advanced combat skills to dynamic movements, clever footwork, and dramatic punches, these robots astonished the audience with their agility.
From waving hands to powerful jumps and confidently entering the ring, the humanoid robots mesmerised viewers and showcased the vast potential of AI in physical performance and sports entertainment.
