Pakistan Ambassador's to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh declared on Friday 10million Pakistanis, living in the US as the "backbone" for fostering ties between the two countries.
Addressing the American policymakers, envoys and business community, Sheikh invited American businesspersons to utilize investment opportunities in Pakistan. He highlighted the significance of the potential cooperation in the IT sector between Pakistan and United States.
Sheikh said: "Pakistan is offering high quality and 70 per cent cheaper services in the field of IT in comparison to that of the US. The trade deficit between the two countries is quite less, which can be fixed."
"Pakistan is among the largest importer of the US cotton. The country is also importing soybean from the US. Pakistan can also work as the geographical center," he said.
Sheikh added: "It is the topmost priority of the government to provide agreeable environment and required facilities to the business community."
Recalling the Indian aggression against Pakistan, Sheikh said, "India has committed provocative actions against Pakistan when the country's economy was steering towards growth."
He said, "We are proud as a nation to give India a befitting response over its aggression. However, Pakistan's topmost priority is to achieve peace, which will also reap benefits for the economy."
He praised the US leadership for brokering a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
