Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said on Saturday that the government hopes current negotiations with IMF will be the last.
Speaking on Samaa TV’s programme "Mere Sawal with Absar Alam", Chaudhry said that Pakistan would make no compromise on its security and defence. He reiterated the country’s commitment to peace, emphasising that Pakistan is not seeking confrontation. However, he warned that any future act of aggression by India would be met with a strong response. He added that every effort for regional peace would be supported.
Chaudhry pointed out that Indian analysts did not speak the truth during times of conflict. He said the civil and military leadership in Pakistan stand united like a closed fist and that national unity must be maintained. He also mentioned that the Prime Minister had extended an invitation for a political ceasefire.
He expressed disappointment that Chief Minister Gandapur failed to attend the events despite receiving formal invitations. “This should not happen,” he said. “If three chief ministers are invited, can one be excluded? Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir personally welcomed each guest at the dinner.”
Chaudhry questioned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for not attending a ceremony at the Presidency and a dinner hosted by the field marshal despite being invited.
Commenting on the economy, he acknowledged that the health, education, and civil sectors lack adequate funding and stressed the need for economic reform.
