A man was killed in an alleged police firing in the Sundar area of Lahore on Thursday.
According to police, officers were on routine patrol when they signaled a man to stop. The unidentified man, believed to be around 52 years old, opened fire on the officers upon seeing them.
Police returned fire, injuring the suspect. He was immediately shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment, but succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the deceased. Police sources say efforts are underway to gather more information about the individual, including checking his criminal record through the Criminal Record Office (CRO).
