PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar clarified that Salman Akram Raja's appointment as secretary general is an internal matter of the party, and it was a decision directly made by the founder-chairman. Gohar emphasized that the founder's instructions are in line with the party's constitution.
Firdous Shamim Naqvi, the additional secretary general, remarked that no disciplinary action has been initiated yet, but if instructions are issued, the necessary action will be taken. Marwat had criticized Salman Akram Raja, and sources indicated that the party founder expressed displeasure over Marwat's statements.
Sher Afzal Marwat's comments about Raja have led to frustration within the party, with the leadership reiterating that any action will only be taken upon official instructions regarding party discipline. Despite Marwat’s criticism, PTI’s top leadership, including Barrister Gohar and Naqvi, stood firmly by Raja, highlighting the importance of party unity and internal matters being handled as per party regulations.
