International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah has reportedly offered additional financial incentives to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), but the offer was declined.
Sources divulged on Thursday that Shah requested leniency from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi in line with the conditions for the Champions Trophy.
The request came after an ICC meeting in Dubai today, which aimed to resolve the deadlock over the Champions Trophy but ended without a consensus.
Following the meeting, Shah called on Naqvi privately to discuss the matter further.
Sources privy to the development said that Naqvi firmly rejected showing flexibility and reiterated Pakistan's stance.
He responded that progress could only occur if the terms were accepted, adding that Pakistan had always compromised in the past, and it was time for others to show flexibility.
During the one-on-one meeting, Naqvi briefed Jay Shah again on the fusion model and certain conditions proposed by the PCB.
Mohsin Naqvi made it clear that Pakistan valued its dignity over monetary benefits.
The PCB has remained adamant about its demands and refuses to back down from its position.
The ICC board is scheduled to meet again on December 7, where Pakistan will reiterate the stance.
