A Karachi court has acquitted Anmol alias Pinky in a 2021 drug case after accepting her acquittal plea.
The Additional District and Sessions Court South approved the application after the defence argued that two co-accused, Ali and Fehmida, had already been acquitted in 2024.
According to the defence, Anmol was implicated in the case mainly on the basis of statements made by the two co-accused. With both individuals already acquitted, her lawyer argued that there was insufficient evidence to support a conviction against Anmol.
After hearing the arguments, the court accepted the plea and acquitted her in the case registered at Guzri Police Station in 2021.
Anmol arrested in May
Anmol was arrested on May 12, 2026, during a joint operation by Karachi police and a federal intelligence agency in the Garden area.
Police claimed that approximately 1.5kg of cocaine, a 9mm pistol and chemicals allegedly used in cocaine preparation were recovered during the operation.
Authorities subsequently linked her to several other cases registered in Sindh and Lahore. The number of cases cited by police and investigators has varied at different stages, while a CTD interim challan submitted in July listed 21 cases.
Police have accused Anmol of drug trafficking and allegedly running an organised drug network. The allegations include offences under narcotics and weapons laws, as well as attempted murder and murder.
The allegations remain subject to judicial proceedings and do not constitute a conviction.
Other cases remain pending
Anmol continues to face several other cases despite her acquittal in the 2021 Guzri drug case.
In a murder case registered at Baghdadi Police Station, a judicial magistrate in Karachi approved the final police challan on August 5.
Police reportedly changed the nature of the charge after a chemical examination concluded that the deceased died from intoxication, leading investigators to drop the murder section.
Meanwhile, proceedings in several drug-related cases are continuing, with indictment proceedings pending in some matters.
The latest court order applies only to the 2021 Gizri drug case and does not affect the other cases pending against Anmol alias Pinky .
