Adviser to the prime minister, Rana Sanaullah said on Friday that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) may benefit politically from losses suffered by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), following the joining of former Azad Jammu and Kashmir prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas to the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
Speaking during a television programme, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was a prominent figure in Azad Jammu and Kashmir politics and his departure from the PPP could weaken the party’s position. He said that any setback for the PPP could, in turn, create political space for the PML-N.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart also commented on political statements made by Faisal Vawda, terming him as an “activist-minded” figure, while suggesting that such remarks reflected personal opinion rather than political certainty.
He stated that changes in ministerial portfolios do not amount to a change of government, adding that it remains the Prime Minister’s prerogative to make adjustments within the cabinet.
No grounds for speculative assessment
He maintained that the PML-N government would complete its full term and said that no political assessment should be based on speculation or individual views.
On the matter involving Ishaq Dar, he rejected allegations linking his name to any scandal, saying that no evidence had been presented in support of such claims and that the matter should be judged on facts presented before the authorities.
