Pakistan white-ball head coach Mike Hesson has said preparations must be carried out in a manner that delivers long-term benefits ahead of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027.
Hesson says 27-28 players attending white-ball camp at NCA
Speaking to PCB Digital on Thursday, Hesson said around 27 to 28 players are currently taking part in the white-ball camp at the National Cricket Academy.
He said the first two weeks of the camp were devoted to medical testing and fitness assessments, while work on cricketing skills will begin alongside fitness training from next week.
Hesson said the squad has approximately three months available during which significant improvements can be made in conditioning.
Players must meet international cricket fitness demands
He said players must be fit and physically strong to meet the demands of international cricket, adding that work is under way on both fitness and strength programmes.
The Pakistan coach said an individual performance plan has been prepared for every player participating in the camp.
He added that each player will have clear focus areas over the next three weeks to support further development.
Hesson works with Ali Raza and Abdul Subhan over past month
Hesson said he has also worked with Ali Raza and Abdul Subhan during the past month as part of the ongoing programme.
Referring to the Asian Games squad, he said the group represents a strong blend of experienced players and emerging talent.
Hesson stressed that preparing players with the One-Day International World Cup in mind remains an important objective for the team management.
