Security and administrative measures have been tightened in the federal capital ahead of the arrival of the Iranian president, with entry into Islamabad’s Red Zone restricted and work-from-home directives issued for employees of several ministries and divisions.
The government has also announced operational changes for key institutions, while courts have adjusted their schedules due to anticipated travel disruptions.
Authorities imposed restrictions on entry into the Red Zone as part of security arrangements for the Iranian president’s visit to Islamabad.
To minimize movement in the high-security area, employees of various ministries and divisions have been instructed to work from home. The Cabinet Division issued formal directives outlining the arrangements for staff working in the Red Zone.
Employees directed to work remotely have also been instructed not to leave the city and not to schedule or attend appointments during the period.
Key ministries, offices to remain operational
Despite the work-from-home orders, several important government institutions will continue functioning from their offices.
According to the list released by authorities, the Cabinet Division, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Finance Division and the Ministry of Finance will remain operational.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industries, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Law and Justice, and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will also continue office operations.

Similarly, employees of the Planning Commission, the National Assembly, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Revenue Division have been directed to report to their offices as usual.
A number of autonomous institutions located within or linked to the Red Zone have also decided to remain closed for the day. The move is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and easing security management during the high-profile diplomatic visit.
Banks to continue normal operations
Authorities clarified that banks located within the Red Zone will continue to operate normally despite the restrictions.
Customers and banking staff will therefore be able to access services as usual throughout the day.
IHC suspends proceedings
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) also remained closed for the day due to the situation created by road closures and movement restrictions.
A regular notification was issued by the registrar with the approval of the chief justice, announcing the cancellation of the day’s cause list.
Court staff were instructed to work from home, while the notification noted that litigants, lawyers and court staff could face difficulties in reaching the court because of the security arrangements.
While the high court suspended proceedings, Islamabad’s district courts will remain open and continue functioning as usual. Authorities said normal judicial work at the district court level will not be affected by the restrictions.
Constitutional Court cancels cause list
The Federal Constitutional Court also canceled its cause list for the day.
According to a notification issued by the Registrar’s Office, the decision was taken because road closures associated with the Iranian President’s visit could create difficulties for litigants and lawyers in accessing the court.
The temporary measures are part of broader security and traffic management arrangements being implemented in Islamabad during the high-level visit.
