Smartphone usage in Pakistan increased by 0.6%, taking the proportion of smartphone users to 71.6%, according to the National Economic Survey 2025-26.
The survey recorded a decline in 2G users, with their share falling to 28%. Moreover, the total number of mobile and fixed-line phone users in the country reached 207.22 million, while the overall mobile connection ratio rose to 82.6%, compared with 81% last year.
The Economic Survey stated that the number of broadband users in Pakistan reached 161 million. The document said that 161.6 million mobile phones had been manufactured locally by March 2026.
According to the survey, Pakistan is among the countries providing the cheapest internet data in the world. The survey estimated total internet data consumption in the country at 30,783 petabytes.
