US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar in Washington on Friday, where the two sides discussed Pakistan-US relations, regional developments and the ongoing US-Iran talks.
The meeting took place at the State Department in Washington. Following the talks, Dar also visited the Pakistani Embassy. The two leaders expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral relations and exchanged views on the evolving regional and global situation. Rubio acknowledged Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic and mediatory efforts for peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, security and counter-terrorism. They also agreed to advance the Pakistan-US partnership through high-level exchanges and shared interests in regional peace, security and prosperity.
Pakistan and the United States agree to expand cooperation in trade, security and regional stability during talks in Washington.
Earlier, Dar arrived in Washington on an official visit, where he was received by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh.
