The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, approved a grant of Rs7.0263 billion for the Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Programme and a Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG) of Rs10.15 billion for the Pakistan Navy’s Hangor Project.
The ECC approved Rs692.9 million for security arrangements during the Islamabad Peace Talks, Rs241 million for victims affected by the blast at Imam Bargah Khadijah-tul-Kubra in Islamabad, and Rs528 million for the operational requirements of the Pakistan Land Ports Authority.
Moreover, the ECC also approved Rs800 million for the procurement of fast patrol boats and related infrastructure for the Pakistan Coast Guards, Rs1.8837 billion for the expansion of the Islamabad Safe City project, Rs150 million for the operational needs of the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), and Rs413.9 million for security-related expenditures linked to the Reko Diq project.
The committee approved Rs183.5 million for the installation of telecom towers in District Shigar, Gilgit-Baltistan, Rs119.9 million for revised salaries and allowances of parliamentary secretaries, Rs8.7589 billion for the Karachi and Hyderabad Urban Infrastructure Development Packages, and Rs2.84 billion for SAP projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ECC approved a TSG of Rs1.3 billion for the modernisation and upgradation of Pakistan Mint, Phase-II-A, and Rs4.377 billion for expenditure requirements and priority initiatives in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the statement, the committee also approved the Budget Honorarium Policy and included the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Law and Justice, and the Office of the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues among eligible organisations.
The ECC approved the budget estimates of IPO-Pakistan for the financial year 2025-26, endorsed the continuation of operational activities of Engro Vopak Terminal Limited, and allowed Pakistan State Oil to continue syndicated financing facilities of up to Rs100 billion.
The committee also approved the revised framework of the Deed of Settlement with Cnergyico PK Limited, a measure expected to support refinery upgradation and investment in the petroleum sector.
In addition, the ECC approved Rs29.9 million for residential rental payments of entitled officers and officials under the Economic Affairs Division and sanctioned a TSG of Rs30 million for the extension and upgradation of the Jamia Masjid at Parliament House in Islamabad.
