President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Azha greetings to Pakistanis, overseas Pakistanis and the Muslim Ummah, urging the nation to include the needy and underprivileged in Eid celebrations.
In his special message, President Asif Ali Zardari said the festival carries the great message of obedience to Allah, patience, loyalty, sincerity and selflessness.
He said sacrifice on Eid-ul-Azha is not only a religious duty but also a complete moral message. Real success, he added, does not lie in wealth, power or external glory, but in piety, sincerity, service and humanity.
The president said the real requirement of sacrifice is to create space for others in our hearts. He urged citizens to share Eid joys with deserving people, including orphans, widows, the sick, labourers, persons with disabilities and helpless segments of society.
President Zardari also stressed special care for those who silently endure hardships without expressing their needs.
President offers Eid prayers in Nawabshah
President Zardari offered Eid-ul-Azha prayers at Zardari House in Nawabshah. After the prayers, he offered special prayers for the security, development and prosperity of Pakistan. He also exchanged Eid greetings with citizens and elders.
PM Shehbaz calls for unity and compassion
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a special message shared on social media platform X and through the PM Office, extended Eid greetings to the nation and the entire Muslim Ummah. He said Eid-ul-Azha reminds Muslims of the great spirit of faith, sacrifice, selflessness and service to humanity.
The PM said the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS) is a symbol of patience, loyalty and obedience for the Muslim Ummah.
PM urges care for poor, underprivileged
Shehbaz said the spiritual occasion of Eid demands that people, both collectively and individually, take special care of the poor, needy and underprivileged around them and include them in their festivities.
He said the spirit of sacrifice inspires people to rise above selfishness, narrow-mindedness and personal interests, and adopt compassion, selflessness and a sense of responsibility towards humanity.
The prime minister said the spirit of sacrifice, unity and solidarity guarantees lasting cohesion and sustainable progress in the life of nations.
The PM also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of the motherland and in incidents of terrorism, calling their sacrifices a source of national pride. He also expressed complete solidarity with the oppressed Muslims of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Shehbaz said Pakistan stands with its Palestinian and Kashmiri brothers and sisters in this difficult time.
Maryam urges people to share Eid happiness
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also congratulated the nation and the Muslim community on Eid-ul-Azha. She said Eid-ul-Azha teaches the lesson of sacrifice and devotion, and urged people to share happiness with the deprived and poor to please God.
Maryam said the message of Eid is to share everyone’s happiness, especially with those in need. She also paid tribute to soldiers deployed on the borders to protect the people and expressed solidarity with the families of martyrs.
She saluted the great sacrifices of all martyrs, including young students who fell victim to Israeli aggression. Maryam also praised the officers and staff who performed cleaning operations and other duties during Eid-ul-Azha.
Aleem Khan Eid message
Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan extended heartfelt Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the entire Muslim Ummah and conveyed his best wishes on the blessed occasion of Eid.
In a special message, Aleem Khan said that Eid-ul-Azha is one of the great blessings of God. He stated that the true purpose of sacrifice is to demonstrate sincere devotion and submission in the path of God.
He urged the public to remember the deserving and underprivileged during Eid celebrations and to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan. He also emphasized the importance of praying for the security, stability, and prosperity of the beloved homeland.
The minister further said that seeking the pleasure of God through sacrifice is the ultimate goal of every Muslim. He prayed that God accepts the sacrifices of the faithful and protects the Muslim world from the challenges and hardships it currently faces.
Selflessness, sacrifice, love, obedience to God
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also extended Eid-ul-Azha greetings to the Muslim Ummah.
In his message, Naqvi said that Eid-ul-Azha carries a profound message of selflessness, sacrifice, love, and obedience to God. He said that Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS) set an unparalleled example of loyalty, devotion, and submission for the sake of Allah.
The minister said that sacrificing one’s desires and ego for the pleasure of Allah is the true essence of this great Islamic occasion.
Naqvi also paid tribute to the martyrs of the country and their families, saying the brave sons who laid down their lives for the nation are the true heroes whose sacrifices can never be measured. He prayed that Eid-ul-Azha brings peace, progress, prosperity, and unity for Pakistan and the entire Muslim Ummah.
