Pakistan and China signed and exchanged several agreements, memorandums of understanding, protocols and cooperation documents to further expand bilateral cooperation in key sectors.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the signing ceremony, which reflected the growing depth of Pakistan-China relations.
The signed documents cover trade, investment, agriculture, science and technology, climate change, education, media, public relations and people-to-people exchanges.
According to officials, 15 cooperation documents were signed between the two countries during the ceremony.

Education, institutional cooperation
An executive programme on educational cooperation and exchanges was signed. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between Pakistan’s Foreign Service Academy and China Foreign Affairs University.
Another MoU was signed between the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, also known as the China National Academy of Governance, and Pakistan’s National School of Public Policy.

Both sides signed a protocol on inspection, quarantine and sanitary requirements for dried fruits. A protocol on phytosanitary requirements for maize was also signed.
A memorandum of understanding on promoting development cooperation in the agricultural sector was included, along with an exchange of letters on animal vaccines.
The document for the handover of veterinary vaccine donations was signed by Federal Minister for Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain and Chinese Minister of Agriculture Zhang Zhu.

Economic development, climate cooperation
Pakistan and China signed a memorandum of understanding on deepening exchanges and cooperation in economic development.
Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal and Director of China’s National Development and Reform Commission Zeng Shanji signed the document.
An MoU on cooperation in environment and climate change was also signed by Chinese Environment Minister Huang Renqiang and Pakistani Ambassador Khalil Hashmi.
Science, technology, conformity assessment
A memorandum of understanding on conformity assessment was signed between China’s State Administration for Market Regulation and Pakistan.
A separate MoU was signed between the Pakistan Science Foundation and the China Association of Science and Technology to promote people-to-people exchanges in science and technology.
Media and documentary cooperation
A memorandum of understanding between Xinhua News Agency and Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation was signed by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and the president of Xinhua.

Another cooperation document on joint documentary production was signed between China Media Group and Pakistan Television by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and the president of China Media Group.
Free trade, multilateralism, public policy
Pakistan and China also signed a memorandum of understanding on support for free trade and multilateralism. The document was signed by China’s Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong and Pakistan’s Commerce Secretary Jawad Pal.
A memorandum of cooperation in public policy was also signed between the Party School of the CPC Central Committee and Pakistan’s National School of Public Policy.
A memorandum of understanding on joint implementation of the Human Resource Development Cooperation Programme for 2026 was signed.
An MoU on cooperation in anti-terrorism equipment and human resource development was also signed by the chairman of China International Development Cooperation Agency and the Pakistani ambassador.
Sister-province relations established
An agreement was signed to establish sister-province relations between Zhejiang Province and Punjab Province.
Officials said the agreement would further strengthen provincial-level cooperation and create new opportunities for people-focused development.
PM calls agreements people-focused
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the agreements reflect the growing cooperation and expansion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.
He said the new documents would create fresh opportunities for cooperation in important areas and directly contribute to the welfare and prosperity of the people of both countries.
