Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir met Iranian chief negotiator and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Iranian media reported.
The Field Marshal also met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, according to media reports. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was also present during the meetings, they added.
Mediation efforts and regional developments were discussed during the talks.
Field Marshal Munir later held a second meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi later in the day, said the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Following the meeting, Field Marshal Munir visited Mashq Square along with the Iranian foreign minister, and inspected the historic buildings there, which reflect Iran’s rich and ancient civilization.
According to the Iranian media, Field Marshal Asim Munir later departed from Iran following his official visit.

Earlier on Friday, the chief of defence forces had met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran to discuss diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the Iran war, Iranian media reported.
The meeting focused on reducing tensions in the region, promoting peace and stability, and preventing further escalation in West Asia.
According to Iranian state media, Asim Munir and Abbas Araghchi exchanged views on the latest diplomatic efforts and initiatives to end the US-Israel war on Iran.
The two sides also discussed regional security issues and possible steps to prevent the conflict from widening further.
A post on the Iranian foreign minister’s Telegram channel said the talks “lasted until late at night.” The post said both sides reviewed diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and promoting peace, stability and security in West Asia.
Pakistan’s mediation role continues
The meeting comes as Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts to help calm the situation and support initiatives aimed at ending the war. Iranian media described the talks as part of ongoing efforts to prevent escalation and find a path toward regional stability.
Earlier, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reached Tehran on an official visit linked to ongoing diplomatic and mediation efforts aimed at promoting regional stability and conflict resolution.
Upon arrival in the Iranian capital, the Field Marshal was received by Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni during a formal welcome ceremony. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was also present at the reception.
