Following a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad has said on Sunday that the moon was sighted in Karachi, Mardan, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Sindh and other areas, and that Eid-ul-Azha would fall on May 27.
Saudi media reported that the Dhul-Hijjah moon was also sighted in Saudi Arabia, with Eid-ul-Azha to be observed on May 27. The first of Dhul-Hijjah falls on May 18, a Monday, while the Day of Arafah will be observed on May 26 and Eid-ul-Azha on May 27.
Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs stated that the moon had been sighted in the country, with Eid-ul-Azha to be observed on May 27. Malaysia also confirmed the sighting of the Dhul-Hijjah moon, with Eid to be observed on May 27.
Tunisia and Türkiye also confirmed the sighting of the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah, with Eid-ul-Azha dates announced accordingly.
