Progress has been reported in the United States-Iran dialogue, with Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arriving in Tehran carrying an important message.
According to details surfaced on Saturday, he met with his Iranian counterpart, where detailed discussions were held on the resumption of peace talks and matters relating to bilateral relations. Matters concerning the United States-Iran negotiations were reviewed during these engagements.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said positive messages have been received, adding that he hopes the White House will act with wisdom.
Efforts to arrange the next round of United States-Iran talks remain under way, with the visit being regarded as of considerable importance.
It is pertinent to note that US President Donald Trump had said that a decisive strike on Iran was halted following a request from certain very good people in Pakistan. He stated that those individuals are closely linked to Iran.
In an interview with US television, President Trump said a friendly country had asked whether the action could be stopped, adding that a deal would be arranged.
He said that every time Iran agrees to a deal, it appears the next day as though no discussions had taken place.
President Trump has claimed there is an issue with Iran, and termed their behaviour as “mad”.
