China has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to help improve relations between Iran and the United States, as both countries continue to navigate tensions in the region.
The development came during a telephone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the two leaders held detailed discussions on the evolving regional situation and matters of mutual interest.
During the conversation, Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote better understanding between Iran and the United States were also discussed. Islamabad’s diplomatic engagement, officials said, is aimed at encouraging long-term peace and stability in the region.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in the US-Iran dialogue and reaffirmed Beijing’s support for Islamabad’s efforts.
Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining peace in the region through dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
Focus on ceasefire and maritime security
The two foreign ministers also stressed the need for a permanent and sustainable ceasefire amid ongoing regional tensions.
They further highlighted the importance of ensuring uninterrupted maritime passage through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global trade and energy route.
Apart from regional developments, the conversation also covered future high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China.
The leaders discussed preparations related to the 75th anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between the two countries, along with broader bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Both sides agreed to maintain close communication and consultation on issues of shared interest.
