Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephonic conversation with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper to discuss the latest situation in the Middle East and rising tensions across the region.
During the conversation, the two leaders have exchanged views in detail on the growing regional instability following the recent military developments involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
Earlier, after the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that Britain had not taken direct part in the initial attacks.
However, Britain permitted the United States to use its military bases in the Middle East for defensive purposes.
Meanwhile, Britain and France remain engaged in diplomatic efforts aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz after Iran’s effective closure of the strategic waterway raised global concerns over oil supplies and maritime trade.
