US President Donald Trump has warned that US bombing of Iran could resume at a “much higher level and intensity” if Tehran fails to agree to the proposed terms.
In a post on Truth Social, he said the conflict could end if Iran accepts what has already been agreed upon, describing it as a major condition for peace.
He added that failure to comply would trigger a renewed and stronger military response.
Iran reviewing US proposal via Pakistan
Iran is currently reviewing a US proposal aimed at ending the more than two-month-long war, according to its Foreign Ministry.
Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran will convey its response through the mediator, Pakistan.
The development signals ongoing indirect diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
Hormuz Strait at center of negotiations
Trump’s proposal links the potential agreement to reopening the Strait of Hormuz for global shipping.
He said that if Iran accepts the deal, the blockade would end and the waterway would be “open to all, including Iran.”
The Strait remains a critical global energy route and a key point of tension in the conflict.
When asked about the possibility of direct talks, Trump told the New York Post that it was “too soon” to consider in-person negotiations with Tehran.
This suggests that diplomatic engagement is still in an early and cautious phase.
The war between the US-Israeli alliance and Iran has continued for over two months, with limited progress toward a lasting ceasefire.
While mediation efforts are ongoing, both sides continue to issue strong warnings and maintain pressure through military and diplomatic channels.
