An unemployment crisis has intensified in Israel, with the jobless rate rising to 16.2 per cent.
According to a report, the country’s economy has come under severe strain owing to the ongoing conflicts with Iran and Lebanon.
The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the number of unemployed persons reached around 750,000 in March, the highest level since the 2020 lockdown period.
The report noted that following October 7, 2023, the unemployment rate had stood at approximately 10 per cent.
