Cambridge International Education has confirmed that an A-Level Mathematics examination paper was leaked ahead of the test.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the board said the AS Level Mathematics Paper 12 (9709), conducted across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Pakistan and South Asia, had been shared prematurely in breach of its regulations.
The paper was reported to have been circulated around six hours before the examination on Wednesday.
Cambridge said it was investigating the incident and working to determine the extent of the leak and the next steps. It said its priority was to ensure that no student is disadvantaged.
The board added that it was taking all possible measures to maintain the integrity of the examinations and advised candidates to continue preparing for and attending upcoming papers.
It said decisions regarding further action would be taken by senior and experienced experts, with a focus on ensuring that grades remain reliable for universities and other institutions.
The statement added that efforts were also under way to minimise disruption and distress caused to students. Cambridge said it takes such incidents seriously and would provide more updates on May 7, 2026.
