Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said her present priority is to reduce the pressure of inflation.
Speaking to the media, she said the government is focused on bringing inflation under control, particularly the rise in energy prices driven by the effects of the United States and Israel’s conflict with Iran.
Meloni said that, in the context of the current international crisis, it is essential to keep prices and the energy sector in check so that inflationary pressure does not emerge in a manner that harms economic growth and leads to a decline in gross domestic product.
The Italian premier said that maintaining control over prices and energy in this situation is an important and constructive step.
