Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his visit to Islamabad, the Iranian Embassy said, as regional diplomacy around a possible Iran-US understanding continues to intensify.
The meeting came during a busy round of engagements for the Iranian delegation, which is also holding talks with Pakistan’s top civilian and security leadership.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and National Security Adviser Asim Malik were also present during the meeting, reflecting the high-level nature of the discussions.

The Iranian delegation included Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqai and Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amir Moqadam.
Iran-US agreement efforts
Efforts to reach an agreement between Iran and the United States are gaining momentum, with Islamabad emerging as a key diplomatic venue.

The Iranian delegation, led by Araghchi, is currently in the Pakistani capital for consultations with senior Pakistani officials.
Dar holds talks with Iranian FM
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Islamabad.
The meeting was part of the ongoing diplomatic contacts as Pakistan continues to play an important role in facilitating dialogue and engagement between the sides.

Araghchi is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior Pakistani leaders today.

US representatives’ arrival also confirmed
The United States has also confirmed that its representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are heading to Pakistan for talks connected to the Iran diplomatic process. Reuters and AP reported that the White House confirmed their travel to Islamabad for negotiations involving Iran, with Pakistan playing a mediating role.
The Iranian delegation reached Islamabad on Friday night. They were received by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir upon arrival.
Detailed discussions are scheduled on the regional situation and diplomatic efforts for peace.
