Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ejaz Chaudhry was shifted from Kot Lakhpat jail to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore after his health suddenly deteriorated.
According to his counsel, Rana Mudassir Umar, Chaudhry was taken to hospital after an abrupt decline in his condition earlier in the day. He said a medical examination was under way and clarified that this was not a routine check-up.
The lawyer added that doctors would provide more details following a complete assessment of Chaudhry’s condition. Ejaz Chaudhry has already been handed 10-year sentences in multiple cases related to the events of May 9.
