Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has contacted Pakistan’s political and military leadership to discuss the regional situation and ceasefire-related issues, according to Iranian media.
The calls come as Pakistan continues efforts to support a ceasefire between the United States and Iran and push for renewed negotiations.
According to Iranian media, Araghchi held separate telephone conversations with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir. The leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and matters linked to the ceasefire.
Iranian media said the contacts were part of ongoing regional consultations amid efforts to reduce tensions.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar and Araghchi exchanged views on regional developments, the ceasefire, and ongoing diplomatic efforts being pursued by Islamabad in the context of US-Iran engagement.

Dar underscored the importance of sustained dialogue and engagement to address outstanding issues, in order to advance regional peace and stability at the earliest.
FM Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s consistent and constructive facilitation role in this regard, and both leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
Pakistan continues ceasefire diplomacy
Pakistan has been continuously working to support a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
Prime Minister Sharif, Foreign Minister Dar and Field Marshal Munir have remained in constant contact with various countries, including the US and Iran.

Islamabad has maintained that dialogue is essential to prevent further instability in the Middle East.
PM Shehbaz chairs consultative meeting
On Thursday, an important consultative meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Sharif. During the meeting, the prime minister expressed hope that Iran and the United States would soon return to the negotiating table.
The meeting reviewed ongoing efforts to hold the second phase of the Islamabad talks.
Foreign Minister Dar took the prime minister into confidence regarding his contacts with foreign ministers of various countries. The briefing focused on diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and creating conditions for renewed dialogue.
Pakistan has been working to keep communication channels open as ceasefire efforts continue.
Pakistan hopes for renewed US-Iran talks
Shehbaz said he hoped Iran and the United States would soon be able to sit again for negotiations. Officials said Pakistan remains committed to facilitating diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
The government believes sustained dialogue is necessary to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East. Pakistan has said it will continue its diplomatic efforts for durable peace in the region.
