Qatar has expressed strong support for ongoing talks between the United States and Iran, while also acknowledging Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.
The remarks come amid rising regional tensions linked to the Strait of Hormuz crisis.
The spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, Majid Al-Ansari, said that the “whole world, including Qatar,” is supporting the ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran.
He stressed that dialogue remains the only way forward amid growing regional instability.
Support for Pakistan’s role
Al-Ansari specifically stated that Qatar supports “our Pakistani brothers,” referring to the diplomatic role of Pakistan in facilitating talks.
He noted that Islamabad is actively in contact with all involved parties, including Qatar, as part of broader peace efforts.
The Qatari official warned that the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz has escalated the situation into an international crisis.
He emphasized that resolving the issue is not the responsibility of a single country but requires collective regional cooperation.
Active diplomatic engagement
Al-Ansari highlighted that Pakistan and its Gulf neighbors maintain long-standing historical relations.
He added that Gulf countries remain in daily contact with different stakeholders involved in the crisis.The spokesperson said Qatar has a history of being a trusted mediator in regional disputes.
He confirmed that Doha will continue engaging with partners to help find a peaceful resolution to the ongoing tensions.
