Reports suggest growing differences between opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai and the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over key political decisions.
According to sources, Achakzai was not consulted before the announcement of public rallies scheduled for April 9 and April 19, which led to his dissatisfaction. Party insiders say that after some leaders informed him post-announcement, he expressed strong reservations. He also reportedly did not attend the Mardan rally as a result of his displeasure.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has reportedly become active in efforts to resolve the situation. He met with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and agreed to improve consultation with Achakzai in future decisions.
Speaking to media, Barrister Gohar said Achakzai is an ally and there is no serious mistrust between them. He added that while internal party matters cannot be disclosed, efforts are made to include Achakzai in all major decisions. He also stated that if any misunderstanding exists, it will be resolved.
