Australia has commended Pakistan’s role in facilitating mediation in the United States-Iran talks and stressed the importance of peaceful resolution of disputes.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke by telephone with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
The Australian foreign minister praised Pakistan’s commitment to the promotion of diplomacy. Dar apprised his Australian counterpart of the Islamabad talks held on April 11 and 12, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to continue dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
Both leaders also expressed concern over the impact on the global economy, particularly on developing countries.
