North Korea has conducted another ballistic missile test, firing the projectile towards the eastern sea.
According to Korean media, the missile was launched at approximately 6:10am today from near the eastern coastal city of Sinpo. This marks North Korea’s latest missile test since 8 April. Meanwhile, South Korea’s presidential office convened an emergency security meeting.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has previously made clear that his country will never relinquish its status as a nuclear power.
It is recalled that under United Nations Security Council resolutions, North Korea’s missile programme remains under sanctions.
