The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted an operation near the Regi Northern Bypass area on the outskirts of Peshawar, killing two militants while their accomplices escaped.
According to CTD officials, one of the militants killed was identified as Abbas, who was allegedly involved in the murder of a police officer. Weapons were recovered from the site of the encounter.
Officials said the militants were wanted in 11 different cases. Following the operation, security forces launched a search operation in the area to track down the fleeing suspects.
Authorities added that efforts are ongoing to eliminate militant networks operating in the region.
