Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has held separate telephone conversations with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, informing them about the Islamabad Talks and Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to maintain contacts between the concerned parties.
According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, Ishaq Dar briefed the Saudi foreign minister on the latest developments regarding the Islamabad negotiations. Both leaders agreed on the importance of promoting peace and stability at regional and global levels.
Dar emphasized Pakistan’s role in facilitating the talks and stressed the need for all parties to adhere to their commitments regarding ceasefires. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for all diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
In a separate call, Ishaq Dar also spoke with Egypt’s foreign minister, updating him on continued efforts to maintain engagement between the parties. He reiterated the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for regional peace and said it is essential for all sides to uphold their commitment to ceasefires.
Later, the FM also held a telephonic conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan and, as per the Foreign Office, shared developments regarding the Islamabad Talks. He also stressed the need for all parties adhering to their ceasefire commitments.
Fidan, on his part, commended Pakistan’s role in facilitating the dialogue between Iran and the United States.
Both leaders reaffirmed their support for all diplomatic efforts aimed at sustaining dialogue and promoting peace and stability in the region and beyond. Fidan also extended the invitation to Dar for the upcoming Antalya Diplomacy Forum later this month.
