In connection with the forthcoming Islamabad Talks, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi on Friday directed that full security and hospitality arrangements be ensured for foreign delegations.
According to details, the Red Zone has been completely sealed in view of the arrival of foreign delegations for the Islamabad Talks. Entry will be permitted only to authorised persons. The interior minister issued instructions to ensure all possible measures for the security of foreign guests.
A special meeting, chaired by Naqvi, reviewed security and other arrangements. Preparations and the security plan regarding the United States-Iran talks in Islamabad were examined in detail. Directions were issued for arrangements for foreign guests.
Naqvi said that, following the ceasefire, the holding of United States-Iran talks in Islamabad is a matter of honour for Pakistan. He directed that all possible steps be ensured for the hospitality and security of the visiting delegations.
The meeting decided that the Red Zone would remain completely sealed and only relevant individuals would be allowed entry. A control room has been established at the Ministry of Interior to oversee security arrangements.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the federal secretary for interior, the chief commissioner, the Islamabad Inspector General of Police, the Rawalpindi commissioner, the FIA director general, the Islamabad deputy commissioner and representatives of Rangers, the Federal Constabulary and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.
