Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations with the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, during which the latest situation in the Middle East and ceasefire violations in Lebanon were discussed in detail.
In his exchange with Kaja Kallas, both sides voiced concern over serious violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon and stressed the importance of its full implementation. The European Union reiterated support for Pakistan’s efforts aimed at peace and stability in the region.
During his contact with Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the two leaders strongly condemned the violations and termed full respect for the ceasefire essential. Dar acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s continued support for efforts to secure peace. According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan also condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanon, the loss of life and destruction of infrastructure, and expressed full solidarity with the Lebanese people.
In his conversation with Bakhtiyor Saidov, the Uzbek foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting a ceasefire in the region and assured full support for peace initiatives. Both sides agreed to continue efforts for lasting peace.
