Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday held a telephonic conversation with Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, discussing rising regional tensions and reaffirming Pakistan’s strong support for Kingdom.
According to an official statement, both leaders exchanged views on the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The discussion focused on regional stability and the need for coordinated efforts to de-escalate the situation.
Pakistan reaffirms solidarity with Saudi Arabia
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity and full support for Saudi Arabia.
He emphasized that the government and people of Pakistan will always stand shoulder to shoulder with their Saudi brothers and sisters.
The prime minister strongly condemned the recent attack on oil facilities in Jubail, terming it unacceptable.
He underscored Pakistan’s firm stance against such acts targeting critical infrastructure.
Acknowledging Saudi support
Shehbaz Sharif also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s longstanding support for Pakistan.
He noted that the Saudi leadership and people have stood by Pakistan during difficult times.
The premier appreciated the patience and wisdom shown by the Saudi leadership amid the current tensions.
He highlighted the importance of calm and measured responses during crises.
During the call, the prime minister briefed the Saudi crown prince on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
He stressed that Pakistan is doing its utmost to ensure that peace initiatives succeed.
In response, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact regarding the evolving regional situation.
