Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stressed on Sunday the need for an immediate reduction in tensions, saying dialogue and diplomacy remained essential for peace and stability.
Dar held a telephone conversation with his Jordanian counterpart on Sunday. Both leaders expressed concern over the deteriorating situation in the region.
Earlier on Saturday, Dar held a telephone conversation with the United Arab Emirates deputy prime minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which he voiced concern over recent attacks in Gulf countries.
Dar also conveyed solidarity with the people of the brotherly Islamic country. According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, the two leaders discussed the changing regional situation and underlined the importance of peace and stability.
Dar expressed concern over the recent attacks in the UAE and elsewhere in the region and said the government and people of Pakistan stand with their Emirati brothers and sisters.
The deputy prime minister also held a telephone conversation with Abbas Araghchi, foreign minister of Iran, to discuss recent developments in the region.
Both sides agreed to remain in contact in view of the evolving situation.
