Pakistani actress Hania Aamir has publicly clarified her stance amid controversy surrounding harassment allegations against producer Umer Mukhtar.
The statement comes after social media criticism questioned her association with him following allegations made by a model and influencer.
Earlier this week, Mahnoor Rahim accused Umer Mukhtar of harassment.
In a video shared on Instagram, she alleged that the producer had sent her uncomfortable and random direct messages (DMs), including messages at 3 a.m.
Mahnoor also criticised Hania Aamir for maintaining a friendly relationship with someone accused of inappropriate behaviour online. She questioned how the actress, who also serves as a UN National Goodwill Ambassador of Pakistan, could continue such ties.
Hania Aamir responds to criticism
On February 20, Hania addressed the matter through her Instagram Stories.
“My name has recently been mentioned in online conversations regarding a situation I had no knowledge of or involvement in… I want to address this clearly,” she wrote.

The actress emphasised that she holds a “zero-tolerance stance towards harassment, exploitation and any conduct that compromises the safety and dignity of women and girls.”
She further stated that such issues are serious realities that must always be treated with gravity and respect.
Expresses support for survivors
Hania also commended Mahnoor Rahim and other women who come forward to speak about their experiences.
She expressed support for creating an environment where every woman and girl feels safe, heard, and protected.
The actress made it clear that in light of the concerns raised, she has chosen to distance herself from the individual in question.
“Any perceived association should not be interpreted as endorsement of another person’s actions,” she stated.
Commitment to safe spaces
Reaffirming her position, Hania said her commitment remains to accountability, respect, and fostering safe spaces across industries and communities.
As a woman, she added, there is a shared responsibility to challenge harmful behaviour, support those who speak up, and uphold standards that protect the dignity and safety of women and girls at all times.
