Actress Daveigh Chase, widely recognized for her roles in The Ring and Lilo & Stitch, has died at the age of 35 on June 16, according to reports.
She was best known for voicing Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and portraying the haunting character Samara Morgan in the horror film The Ring, a performance that earned her an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.
Cause of death reported as Meningitis complications
According to TMZ, Chase passed away due to complications related to meningitis.
Her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, confirmed the news and had earlier launched a GoFundMe campaign to support her medical treatment during her illness.
He stated that she had been diagnosed with meningitis along with multiple serious blood infections, which later became critical.
Health struggles and organ failure
Hernandez also shared that her condition worsened after developing a severe blood infection that led to sepsis.
The infection reportedly resulted in multiple organ failure, as her health rapidly deteriorated in recent days.
Daveigh Chase began her acting journey at a very young age, appearing in commercials and stage performances as a child.
By the age of seven, she had already entered the entertainment industry, later appearing in popular television shows such as Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Charmed, The Practice, and ER.
Chase gained widespread recognition for her role in The Ring, where her chilling performance left a lasting impact on audiences.
She also starred in Beethoven’s 5th, appeared in Big Love, and was part of the beloved animated film Spirited Away.
Her versatility allowed her to move between voice acting, television, and major film roles throughout her career.
